Spotless, classy, inviting atmosphere, friendly people! Heartland is a bed and breakfast - but it feels more like a mini-lodge. The meals are in the bed and breakfast style; you eat with everyone else. They allowed ATV's to run on a trail close to the wedding site up to 30 minutes before which means guests had arrived. We were expecting a quiet weekend getaway to recharge but didn't get much quiet or sleep. The breakfast price was in the wedding contract for the same amount a year before the wedding when it was signed, then it was two weeks before the wedding. You must have been misinformed with who the owner is. Perfect place for families or couples! There was absolutely NO reason to leave those particular trails open the day of the event. We had a wonderful weekend of ATVing, delicious meals and friendly hospitality. I think the day we were there probably 20-30 riders on about 1500 acres. Do not buy a gift certificate from them. The bride posted the following comment on our Facebook page "Thank you, everyone had a wonderful time and loved the lodges :)" I personally followed up with the mother of the bride who did most of the wedding planning and we had two very positive conversations. They stayed in Prairie Ridge Lodge in the beautiful suites there. The new building is where the luxury suites are located. We didn't visit the other building that housed the regular rooms.The dinner is, again, over the top. The lodging is not only in a beautiful location but is well taken care of and very clean. The best part about the trails is there aren't many riders. It was requested to us by the mother of the bride to close down the trails 30 minutes before the wedding. The hayride and bonfire were both provided, the smores were not set out but all someone had to do was ask and we would have been happy to supply them, my apologies. I would suggest staying downstairs.They really cater to hunters - and I think it started out as a hunting lodge. Don't plan on watching much TV. We have learned from this wedding to more strongly recommend our other wedding locations on the property that are not close to the main trails and if a bride still wants to hold the wedding in this location we will have something in the wedding contract about the ATV trails. We have held weddings in the same location in the past with closing off the trails 30 minutes before the wedding starts without any complaints. The rooms are comfortable and the food is first rate. The dust was flying everywhere so the linens, chairs, etc  got very dusty. The rooms do not have TV's and maybe that is a good thing. They have two buildings; a new building and an older building. An hour and a half before the wedding she asked if we could have them closed and we did so an hour before the wedding started. The lodge is beautiful, the staff was pretty friendly and seemed accommodating enough. Make sure if you decided to ignore this warning and have an event at the lodge, that you make amendments to the contact to cover EVERYTHING even the common sense things like closing trails.
