[2], In 1969 she was interviewed by American journalist William Craig and one of the things he asked her about was her time in the Hares. Only really prominent people were urged to retreat from the front lines for propaganda purposes -- we're talking the likes of Ulrich Rudel or Erich Hartmann. This is all a lie. In Craig's book Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad that was written based on interviews, there is a narrative of a love triangle between commissar Danilov, Chernova and Zaytsev which has been explained as a work of fiction by English military historian Antony Beevor.[2]. How to define a similarity between two graphs? There are several other high-profile soldiers that were killed without "having all records deleted" to cover up. Incidentally, Batuk is an example of Russian "underpromotion" of their officers. Oh the other hand, Soviet propaganda was rife with fictitious stories to boost morale during a time when the war was so uncertain. After that, she joined Vasily Zaytsev's sniper school and became a sniper. But more importantly? There, Zaitsev set up a snipers' training school in the Metiz factory; it was run by Zaytsev. Vasily Zaytsev grew up in the Ural Mountains, some of the roughest inhabited terrain there is. Tania Charnova was not a man’s prize, or a troubled damsel who needed to be saved: she was a dedicated soldier and a skilled sniper who should be renowned for her marksmanship, fierceness, and bravery during the war. 2) School. Historian Antony Beevor has questioned the veracity of Chernova claims, due to his research indicating a lack of female Soviet snipers at the battle. It is estimated that the snipers Zaytsev trained killed more than 3,000 enemy soldiers.Zaitsev took part in the battle for Stalingrad until January 1943, when he suffered an injury to his eyes from a mortar attack. I find it interesting that the guys name is, I'd disagree with reasons 1 and 5 (although not with the conclusion). Tania was on the front lines serving her country and fighting against the Germans, and while the story of the film reflects this, it is very sad that the writers of the movie decided, quite disappointingly, to turn her into nothing more than a damsel in distress and a prize for Zaytsev to win that would represent his happiness at the end of the movie. (See 1) above.) This explains one possible motive for the German military to destroy records of König, as König's death at the hands of a "sub-human" Russian Communist would add to the humiliating defeat of the German forces at Stalingrad.... While the German propaganda machine certainly preferred positive news, the death of Hans-Joachim Marseille -- certainly a much more prominent soldier than this elusive Maj. König -- was even mentioned in the Wehrmachtsbericht, at around the same stage of the war. I have slipped off my bike 3x in the last 2 months - will changing tyres help? I seriously doubt that Maj. Erwin König, or any "German supersniper sent out to get Zaytsev" existed, let alone an effort to "remove him from history" after Zaytsev killed him.
