Diversity and inclusiveness are among our core values, so we are particularly interested in receiving titles from small presses, first-time authors, and poets from underrepresented backgrounds. Please include a cover letter with your publication history. Sign Up to the Mailing List Many thanks. Whether poetry is your hobby, profession, private outlet, or public expression, your work is welcome. For reprints we ask for acknowledgement of its publication in Palette Poetry first. This is why we keep our reading fees low. We know how lonely writing can be—often we do it without any real professional support, because the words must come out. We will, however, consider poems that have only been self-published to blogs, message boards, or social media accounts. All poems and essays are works of the imagination. You may opt out of our mailing list at any time, in writing or with an email to: Payment for print publication (from us to you in exchange for your work) is $200 and a complimentary one-year subscription to the magazine, including the issue in which your work appears. We look forward to hearing from you!
We accept simultaneous submissions—just please send us a note if your work is picked up elsewhere. Please use Submittable if at all possible. Fire Poetry Journal's Free Submissions Period is OPEN! A reading fee of $7.50 is required with each submission (please note that this comes to $8.06, including fees). Submissions are open year-round, always welcomed, and always free. If we decide we’d like to publish any of them, you will have an opportunity to revise author galleys at that time. The Visible Poetry Project accepts all works, published or unpublished, that you define as poetry. If using Submittable, please be sure to select the Tribute to Neurodiversity category. Mail the check and a copy of your application to: Visible Poetry Project491 3rd Ave, Apt 3Brooklyn, NY 11215USA. If the reading fee imposes a financial burden on you, please email us at visiblepoetryproject@gmail.com to request a fee waiver. That is, please do not send a new submission if you have not yet had a response to a previous one. Featured Poems are published online only and will spotlight a number of poems from new authors each month. We are happy to return your work but include sufficient postage if you would like us to do so. There are separate options for members and non-members of the Poetry Society. Always Open. If submitting by mail, only include your name and contact information in the cover letter, not above the poems. If you are moved by Visible Poetry Project's mission and work, we ask that you consider making an additional donation. Bend language, experiment with visuality and form—lay your heart bare on the page. We strive to emphasize the diversity of the global poetry community, and so encourage you to submit regardless of background or circumstance. • Include a cover note containing your address and email. You may add a brief publication history (but this won’t affect your chances). Please note, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, The Poetry Society offices are temporarily closed. Submissions for our Featured Poetry category are open year round to poets at any stage of their career. Overview Rattle publishes unsolicited poetry and translations of poetry. Contributors in print receive $200/poem and a complimentary one-year subscription to the magazine.
For a trial period, we have now extended online submissions to The Poetry Review to UK-based writers via Submittable. There is a limit of one submission per person.
