Once on the final climb back to Kembla Lookout the steps and chain fence keep you on the track and safe. Sitting on the edge of the Illawarra Escarpment directly above Farmborough Heights and Mount Kembla this combination of walks gets you into the bush very quickly from anywhere in the Wollongong area. From here you’ll wind up the mountain’s south side to the bottom of the lookout road. There was a shorter 400m bush-walk we took to another quainter view-point from the main lookout.
