I keep this tuned to C Sharp standard tuning, I certainly would not recommend going above D standard, this is why this guitar is in pristine condition, concert pitch would ruin such a guitar in prolonged use, I will not put modern 12 strings into concert pitch, let alone a 40 year old instrument. The Japan made Red Label Nippon Gakki FG-230 is a very respected 12 string, the spruce top gives this guitar the shimmering tone only this Yamaha can produce, the tone and sound is truly stunning.I have never used the vintage pick up in the guitar case, it all original and new, as the day it was placed in the case, there is no reasons why it should not work. This Yamaha FG-230 has no issues, it's in fantastic condition and ready to be enjoyed.I have had no courier issues, all guitars reaching buyers with no problems, packed and boxed carefully and bomb proof !Please view my feedback from buyersPosted with eBay Mobile, If this item contains incorrect or inappropriate information please, By continuing to use the site, you are consenting to the use of cookies as explained in our. Serial number....1127315This wonderful 40year old Yamaha is a pure delight, visually and sound, fantastic condition, very very minor marks, almost indistinguishable, for its age it is in pristine condition, having a 48mm nut width, there is plenty of room to pick single strings, modern 12 strings are far to narrow in the nut in my opinion, recently I tinkered on a friends Guild 12, and honestly this guitar is not a million miles from the Guild sound.Fitted with Elixr 10s, with a 12th fret action of 3mm Low E....2.75 High E, you really will not get any better on a 40 year old guitar.
